Post-rockband Mogwai kondigde pas hun nieuw album ‘The bad fire’ aan. De plaat komt volgend jaar uit op 24 januari. De Amerikanen werkten hiervoor samen met producer John Congleton – die eerder al samen werkte met onder andere St. Vincent en Angel Olsen. “After the high of putting out ‘As The Love Continues’, the following years were personally hard for us. We’ve dealt with a lot of loss and in Barry’s case a serious family illness with one his daughters. Getting back together to write and record this record felt like a refuge and with John Congleton we feel that we’ve made something special. We often hear from people that our music has helped them get through hard times in their lives and for once I think it applies to us as well.“, vertelt de band in een statement.
Het album bevat de eerder uitgebrachte single ‘God gets you back’ als de nieuwe single ‘Lion rumpus’. Deze kun je hieronder beluisteren. Verder trekt de band met het album ook op tournee. Hun tourbus houdt halt langs Ancienne Belgique op 17 februari en daags nadien in De Roma. Enkel voor het concert in De Roma zijn nog tickets te koop. Snel zijn is dus de boodschap.
